CatchON TV setup: how to install it on any device
Setting up CatchON TV is the same on every device: install a player app, then sign in with the login you received. This guide covers the general method, the three login formats and the problems people hit most often. Device-specific walkthroughs are linked below.

How do you install CatchON TV on a TV, phone or computer?
Install an IPTV player app that supports Xtream Codes on your TV, stick, phone or computer. Open it, choose to add a playlist with an Xtream Codes login, then type the username, password and server URL from your CatchON TV activation message. The player downloads the channel list, TV guide and on-demand library automatically.
The four setup steps
- 1
Choose a plan
Pick a subscription length on the pricing page. Every plan includes the same channels, on-demand library and program guide.
- 2
Receive your login
After payment is confirmed you receive Xtream Codes details (username, password, server URL) and an M3U link.
- 3
Install a player app
Install an IPTV player on your device. The device guides list options for Fire TV, Smart TVs, Android and Apple devices.
- 4
Sign in and watch
Enter your login in the app. It loads live channels, the TV guide (EPG) and the on-demand library automatically.
Which app do you use for CatchON TV?
CatchON TV does not require one specific app. Any IPTV player that accepts an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist will work. Pick one that is available in your device’s official app store, supports an electronic program guide (EPG) and lets you organise favourites. Support can recommend a player for your exact device.
Things to check when choosing a player:
- Login support: Xtream Codes login is the easiest, because it loads live TV, the TV guide and on-demand content in one step.
- Program guide: the app should display the EPG. Some apps need you to tap “update EPG” the first time.
- Where it comes from: prefer your device’s official app store. Only sideload an app (on Fire TV or Android) from the developer’s own website.
- Extra fees: some Smart TV players charge their developer a one-time activation fee after a trial. That fee is separate from your CatchON TV plan.
On computers, the free VLC media player can open the M3U playlist link directly, but it does not show a program guide.

CatchON TV APK and downloads
There is no separate “CatchON TV APK” to download. CatchON TV is a login that works inside an IPTV player app, so the only thing you install is the player. Files labelled “CatchON TV APK” on third-party download sites are not something we publish. Treat them as unknown software.
How to download what you need
- Android TV, Google TV, Android phones: install the player from Google Play.
- Samsung and LG TVs: install it from the TV’s own app store.
- iPhone, iPad, Apple TV: install it from the App Store.
- Fire TV: use the Amazon Appstore where possible; otherwise follow the Firestick guide to sideload from the developer’s official site.
Then sign in with your CatchON TV details. If the store says the app is not compatible, read what “unsupported device” means.
Xtream Codes, M3U or MAC portal: which login to use
Your activation message contains more than one way to sign in. Use the first one your app supports.
| Format | What you enter | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Xtream Codes API | Username, password, server URL | Most player apps on Fire TV, Android, iOS and Smart TVs. Loads EPG and on-demand automatically. |
| M3U playlist | One long URL | Players without Xtream support, VLC on a computer, and Smart TV apps activated by MAC address. |
| MAC portal | Portal URL; the box’s MAC address is registered by support | MAG and Formuler set-top boxes. |
Device guides
- Firestick guide: install Downloader, allow unknown apps, sideload a player and sign in.
- Smart TV guide: Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Android TV / Google TV.
- Not sure your device is compatible? Check the supported devices list first.
Common CatchON TV setup problems
“Invalid username or password”
Logins are case-sensitive. Copy them exactly, and include the full server URL with its http:// prefix and port number (for example :8080) if one is given. The authentication error guide covers every variant.
The TV guide is empty
An electronic program guide is downloaded separately from the channel list. In your player, open settings and choose “update EPG”, then wait a few minutes. Some channels never carry guide data.
Channels buffer or freeze
Restart your router and device, move to a wired or 5 GHz connection, and try a lower-quality version of the channel. See CatchON TV buffering fixes, or start from the not-working checklist. Quick answers are in the CatchON TV FAQ.
Still stuck?
Send support your device model, the app you installed and a photo of the error. You don’t need a plan to ask; see the plans once your device works.
