What internet speed do you need for CatchON TV?

Plan on at least 3 Mbps per screen for HD and 15 Mbps or more for 4K. Those are the figures major streaming services publish for the same picture qualities. Stability matters as much as speed, so a wired Ethernet connection or a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi signal reduces buffering.

These thresholds are the ones Netflix publishes for HD (3 Mbps) and Ultra HD (15 Mbps). Live IPTV streams have similar bitrates. Treat the figures as a baseline, not a guarantee. If several people stream at once, add their speeds together.

  • SD: works on most connections, including mobile data.
  • HD / Full HD: 3 Mbps minimum per stream; 10 Mbps gives headroom.
  • 4K: 15 Mbps or more per stream, plus a 4K-capable TV or streaming stick.

Older Firesticks and budget Android boxes can struggle with 4K, even on fast connections. For 4K, use a 4K-capable model. Shopping for a device? The IPTV box guide covers what to look for, and Roku owners should read IPTV on Roku.
