About CatchON TV
Is CatchON TV legal?
IPTV is a legal way to deliver television, and many licensed broadcasters use it. Whether watching a particular channel is legal depends on the rights held for that content and on the law where you live. Use CatchON TV only for content you are entitled to watch. What we can and can’t confirm about CatchON TV’s legality.
Are CatchON TV and catchontv the same service?
Yes. “CatchON TV”, “Catchon TV” and “catchontv” are spellings of the same name. This site, catchontv8k.com, covers the CatchON TV subscription, its plans and setup. Other websites use similar names, so check the domain before you pay or share login details.
Can I watch CatchON TV away from home?
Yes. Your login works on any supported device with an internet connection, including a phone on mobile data or a laptop on hotel Wi-Fi. HD and 4K video use a lot of mobile data, so Wi-Fi is the better choice for long viewing sessions.
Watching CatchON TV: quality and buffering
Why does CatchON TV buffer, and how do I fix it?
Buffering is usually caused by the local connection: weak Wi-Fi, other devices using bandwidth, or an underpowered streaming stick. Restart the router and device, switch to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and try the channel’s lower-quality version. If only one channel buffers, report it to support. Full buffering diagnosis and fixes.
How many screens can I watch on at the same time?
It depends on the plan you choose: CatchON TV plans are available for 1, 2, 3 or 4 devices at the same time. You can install the login on more devices than that, but only that many can play at once. Pick the device count on the pricing page.
Why is the TV guide empty for some channels?
The program guide (EPG) is downloaded separately from the channel list and only exists for channels whose broadcaster publishes schedule data. In your player, open settings and choose to update the EPG, then wait a few minutes. Channels without guide data will still play normally.
Can I watch CatchON TV in 4K?
Yes, on channels and titles offered in 4K. You need a 4K TV or streaming device, a player that supports 4K playback and a connection of roughly 15 Mbps or more per stream. Other channels play in SD, HD or Full HD depending on the source.
